Gift giving is the highlight of my holiday season. Whether it’s Secret Santas, holiday dinners, or work events, gift exchanges are what I look forward to the most.
Last year, I received a gorgeous box of cookies that had pignolis, sugar cookies, jam thumbprints, chocolate chip, and oatmeal raisin cookies. But the one that stood out was a chocolate crinkle cookie. A cookie that was “accidentally left outside” during snow flurries. Or snow-capped mountain peaks. Gorgeous! The other cookies were great, don’t get me wrong. But I’ve been thinking about this particular cookie for a while, and I wanted to recreate this recipe. (My friend graciously shared this version, which I’ve modified.)
A chocolate crinkle cookie is essentially a brownie in cookie form. They are soft and fudgy on the inside with a crispy, crinkled exterior. And like most cookies, they pair well with a warm mug of tea. You will definitely find me baking a batch of these all year round. In fact, you can double the recipe and freeze the extra dough. Just bring it back to room temperature when you want to bake them, and voila: You’ve got a winter-wonderland treat within minutes.
Now go impress your loved ones with this delicious gift!
I looove chocolate crinkle cookies. What did you modify to make them even more delicious? 😋
