About a year ago, a wonderful, timid Queens alley cat came into my life. This grey (Blue Russian) furball is Kimchi and is affectionately known as my cat! We were living in Brooklyn when we first got him, and all he knew was city living. Since we moved up to the country, he’s been thriving as an indoor/outdoor cat climbing trees and chasing after insects. It’s been a hilarious journey with him so far!
Kimchi has made a new friend here as well, our neighbors cat, Gizmo. They meet up every morning and chase each other around the yard, and then they sit under a big tree and chill.
Kimchi has become such a pillar in my life offering calm and friendship when I need it. Check out some never-before-seen pictures of him below. Pets are really the best, aren’t they?
Good to know I am not the only one who has a feline yoga buddy! I never practice alone…even at home. Kitties are the best!
He’s so cute! ?
Such a handsome boy! Cats are such great companions!
I love Russian Blue cats. We have one too.
I love seeing your chronicle of Kimchi’s first year- what a unique, handsome, and happy cat, with an owner seeing how special he is and memorializing those moments! I was also so entertained by your IG photos of him and the soundtrack you selected for the pictures- I get it, as a cat owner too——haha!!! Thank you Emma!
I can’t believe it.
I have a Russian Blue (or at least she looks like one) named Kimchi too. Mine is a bit heavier than yours, but she’s sweet and I love her as much as you love your Kimchi. I named her Kimchi because she had a sister who was named Miso. I love Korean style fermented cabbage, and I also love my cat.
Kimchi’s a gorgeous feline & looks almost identical to our Smokey Joe🐾♥️🪅🤟
So photogenic! Do you think he knows how good looking he is?
