Though it seems like tahini has had a meteoric rise in the food scene recently, tahini’s actually been a staple for millennia! Tahini is a nutty, toasted sesame condiment that finds itself in many foods, one of which is hummus. But I think it’s time for tahini to shine as its own self.
This tangy tahini sauce is one of my go-to’s this summer because it’s super easy to make and just takes one bowl. This versatile recipe can be adapted for thicker dips (think burgers, kebabs, over toast) or looser salad dressings: it elevates any meal. I love adding a splash of fish sauce, which gives the sauce a salty-pungent kick. Substitute agave for honey to make this a vegan recipe. Enjoy!
